Have you ever heard of the movie Super Size Me? I bet you have, it was one of the most successful health documentaries of all time. Well, a man by the name of Damon Gameau has created a new documentary, which is along the same lines of Super Size Me. It’s called The Sugar Film, and it explores the dangers of sugar addiction, voluntary or involuntary.
Daniel set out to eat 40 teaspoons of sugar everyday for 60 days. But there was a catch; he must eat the sugars hidden within healthy foods. This means he could not indulge in chocolate or any other “fatty” food. To most this doesn’t seem like it would cause a problem, but it did.
The problem associated with consuming this much sugar goes well beyond an upset stomach. After just 18 days Damon was facing a fatty liver disease. Doctors also noticed that his mental stability, as well his overall health was declining. Not to mention the weight he was putting on.
What are the sugar addiction symptoms?
Some might question how Damon was gaining weight if he was eating healthy. Well the answer is that the food we perceive as “healthy” may not be as “healthy” as we thought. There are hidden sugars and fats in many of the foods you eat to stay healthy.
Studies conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show that 29.1 million American’s suffer from diabetes, that’s 9.3 percent of the population. This is a scary fact to take into consideration. Damon conducted his research for 60 days, America has conducted their “research” most of their lives.
No wonder everyone is falling ill to obesity. People don’t even know what they are eating, or why they are eating it. If you think that eating diet foods is good for your health you’re wrong. Damon filmed his documentary in Australia, a place that is similar to America. However, American’s have taken things a little bit to far.
But who is to blame?
The blame should not only be place on the people, it should also be placed on the heads of the governing parties that allow for this stuff to happen. With the surging health craze that has taken over the world American’s should be turning to things that will actually make them healthier. Don’t buy in to everything you hear or see because chances are the people operating these programs just want your money.
If you really want to get healthy use documentaries like Damon’s to open your eyes to all the “healthy” foods you think are doing you good. If Damon was experiencing severe issues only 18 days into his experiment, imagine what people have been doing to their bodies for years.
Try to clean up the way you eat and drink the right way and watch your sugar addiction symptoms fly right out of the window. To be honest that is what I believe the problem is, people love sugary foods and are unaccustomed to eating healthy. After a few weeks you’ll notice a difference in how you feel. If you ask me it’s worth it. Keeping in good shape will do well for your overall health and most importantly your future.
