There are things in this world that just don’t go well together for example; pickles and peanut butter, snow and the month of August, and most importantly your eyebrows and hot wax (or tweezers). To make sure that you never have to deal hot wax (or cold metal) on your face again this article will be covering the art of threading.
Your eyebrows are important, there’s no denying that. Not only do they help you by keeping dirt out of your eyes, they also make your face look amazing. So, the question is then, why would you torture them (and yourself) with hot wax treatments and constant plucking with sharp tweezers?
Wax Is For Floors:
The use of tweezers can cause more harm to your body than you think, using tweezers often leads follicle brake offs that then become ingrown hairs. Tweezers may also lead to an exposure of the pores which if introduced to bacteria can lead to painful infection. Hot wax is also not too safe it can often lead to burns on the face and epidermal injuries, not to mention it’s not that effective.
Reasons To Start Threading:
Threading is not only the safest way to remove excess eyebrow hair it is also the most efficient. Threading allows you to make much smoother angels in the shape of your eyebrows. Threading is also ideal for those on a budget, unlike wax which can tax your wallet significantly, thread is cheap and reusable.
Threading is fast and easy to learn, and, if you practice it enough you will find that your hair follicles in the targeted areas will shut down and no longer need the treatment. This is perfect if you are someone who is tired of having to spend time and money on constant treatment.
How To Do Threading:
To carry out threading apply a warm compress to the area you wish to thread, this is to loosen up hair follicles. Then grab a thread that is about 45 cm long, tie the two ends together . Hold the thread with both hands and twist the middle about 10 times. Practice moving the shuttle, or the middle twisted part, from one side to the other.
Twist the hand without the knot about 5 or 6 times, while holding the other part tightly. Open and close the thread over the hair you wish to remove. Practice the opening and closing technique by opening one hand and closing the other at the same time.
The twisted thread in the middle is what will remove the hair. Hold the hands so that the fingers are facing away from the face and position them over an eyebrow. Place the triangle of the thread over the area you wish to pluck and get started.
With a bit of practice you should become very comfortable with the movement.
